There are almost no RV parks inside the Frisco city limits, so the RV parks near Frisco are really in the surrounding towns – Little Elm, The Colony, Oak Point, Aubrey and Denton – most of them within fifteen to thirty minutes of The Star and PGA Frisco. When comparing them, the things that differ are stay limits, whether sewer is at the pad, rig-length caps, gate hours, Wi-Fi that can carry a video call, and whether the water you were promised is on the property or a drive away. Waterfront Hideaway Ranch is about 25 minutes from Frisco on six hundred feet of private Lake Lewisville shoreline, with no cap on how long you can stay.
Where are the RV parks near Frisco, and why none in Frisco?
Because Frisco built out as suburbs, not as a destination with land to spare. The city went from a small town to a quarter of a million people inside a generation, and the land that would once have held a campground now holds neighborhoods, The Star, Stonebriar, PGA Frisco and Universal Kids Resort. There is very little raw acreage left inside the city, and none of it is inexpensive.
So the practical answer for anyone arriving in a rig is that the RV parks near Frisco are the ones to look at, rather than any in it. The good news is that the ring around Frisco – Little Elm, The Colony, Oak Point, Aubrey, Denton – is where the water is anyway.
What are you driving into Frisco for?
Worth being honest about this before you book, because it decides which side of the ring you want to be on. Most visits are one of five things:
- The Star – Dallas Cowboys world headquarters, the Ford Center, tours and The Star District. Roughly 20-25 minutes from the north shore of Lake Lewisville.
- PGA Frisco and the Omni – PGA of America headquarters, two championship courses and The Swing. About 18-22 minutes.
- Riders Field – Frisco RoughRiders AA baseball, a Texas Rangers affiliate. 20-25 minutes.
- Universal Kids Resort – the family theme park that opened in summer 2026. 20-25 minutes.
- Work – the hospitals, the corporate campuses and the enormous amount of construction in Frisco, Prosper and Celina.
Grandscape in The Colony – four hundred-plus acres with Nebraska Furniture Mart, Scheels, Cosm, Puttery and Fritz’s Adventure – is 15-20 minutes and gets folded into most trips whether or not it was on the plan.
What separates a good North Texas RV park from a parking lot?
Prices in this market cluster tightly enough that the nightly rate tells you very little. These are the things that differ.
How long you are allowed to stay
This is the big one and almost nobody checks it until it is a problem. Lake Lewisville is ringed by Corps of Engineers and city-run parks, and almost all of them cap camping at roughly fourteen days in any thirty-day period. That is not a policy a ranger can waive – it is how public recreation land works. If your contract is thirteen weeks, a public park is not an option, it is a countdown.
Sewer at the pad, not a dump station
Electric at the site is near-universal. Sewer at the site is not. On a public lake it is rare. Over a month, the difference between full hookups and a dump station on the way out is enormous.
Rig length, honestly stated
Plenty of parks publish a length that assumes an empty site, a clean approach and a driver having a good day. Ask specifically: what fits, in which class, and is there room beside it for a trailer? We cap our Premium Gold and Premium Platinum sites at fifty feet and our Standard sites at about thirty-five, and we would rather move you than watch you fail to fit.
The gate, and when it works
A lot of lakeside parks close their gates at night. If you fish at dawn, work nights, or drive back from a game at eleven, that is the detail that ruins the stay. Ours is code-controlled, app-controlled so you can let a visitor in without walking down, and it works around the clock.
Wi-Fi that expects you to work
A meaningful share of people in any North Texas park on a Wednesday are working – travel nurses, crews, remote staff. Ask whether the network is park-wide and included, or a login that drops at the back rows.
Whether the water is there
Read listings carefully. A great many places that advertise Lake Lewisville put you a drive from it: you load a cooler, find parking, share a public ramp and a public beach, and drive back. That is a different product from walking down to the water in bare feet.
Where does Waterfront Hideaway Ranch fit?
We are on a county road in Little Elm, on the north end of Lake Lewisville, roughly 25 minutes from Frisco. A hundred full-hookup sites across five classes, three cabins, and six hundred feet of private shoreline that only guests can reach.
Every site has 20/30/50 amp power, water and sewer at the pad and park-wide AT&T Fiber Internet. The difference between the least expensive class and the most expensive is basically how far your door is from the water. Nobody gets a lesser bathhouse or a smaller share of the shoreline.
Because we are private land rather than a public park, there is no fourteen-day cap. Monthly sites start at $750 plus metered electric with a thirty-night minimum, which is why a lot of guests book a weekend and then ask about the rate.
What should you ask before you book anywhere?
- What is the maximum stay, and is it a hard cap?
- Is sewer at the pad, or is there a dump station?
- What length fits in the class you are quoting me, and is there room for a trailer beside it?
- What hours does the gate work?
- Is Wi-Fi included, and does it reach the back rows?
- Is the water on the property, or nearby?
- How many pets, and is there anywhere for them to run?
