There is a real difference between staying near a lake and staying on one. Here the water is the edge of the property, so you walk down to it from your site or cabin rather than loading the car.
Because the shoreline is inside the gate, it stays quiet. On most mornings you will have a good stretch of it to yourself.
About Lake Lewisville
Lewisville Lake was impounded on the Elm Fork of the Trinity River in the mid-1950s behind the Garza–Little Elm Dam. At conservation pool it covers 29,592 acres with roughly 183 miles of shoreline and a maximum depth around sixty-seven feet, which makes it the largest lake in the immediate Dallas–Fort Worth area.
It is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District, and it touches ten cities. Anglers know it as a productive urban fishery, which is unusual for a lake this close to a metro of eight million people.
The water is typically stained rather than clear, and the level moves through the year by four to eight feet. That is worth knowing if you are planning a trip around a particular ramp or a particular beach.

Texas Parks and Wildlife rates the catfish and crappie here excellent, and the largemouth, spotted bass and hybrid stripers good. You can fish off our bank without a boat, and the tournament ramps are ten minutes away.

Kayaks and paddleboards go in off our own shoreline. If you tow something bigger, there are five marinas and about seventeen public ramps on this lake, and the nearest are a short drive from the gate.

There is no boat ramp on the property. Our shoreline is for swimming, paddling and bank fishing. If you are launching something on a trailer, these are the closest public ramps.

Swimming
Guests swim off the shoreline, which has a gentle grassy entry rather than a drop-off. It is a natural lake bottom rather than a pool: there is no lifeguard and no roped swim area, and you swim at your own risk.
If you would rather have sand underfoot, Little Elm Park Beach is the closest municipal beach at about ten to fifteen minutes. Stewart Creek also has a swim area.
Lake level moves through the season, so the amount of beach at any of them changes, ours included.

Is there a boat ramp at Waterfront Hideaway Ranch?
No. Our shoreline is for swimming, paddling and bank fishing rather than launching trailered boats. The closest public ramps are Little Elm Park, Cottonwood and Crescent Oaks, all roughly ten to fifteen minutes from the gate.
Can I bring my own kayak or paddleboard?
Yes, and you can put it in straight off our bank rather than driving to a ramp. We also keep kayaks that guests are welcome to take out. Everyone using the water signs the ranch waiver at check-in.

Is the water clear?
Lewisville is a stained lake rather than a clear one, which is normal for North Texas reservoirs and is part of why the fishing is as good as it is. Water level typically fluctuates four to eight feet across a year, so how much bank is showing depends on when you come.
Which sites are on the water?
Premium Gold and Premium Platinum RV sites face the water, and Cabins 1 and 2 look out over it, with Cabin 3 a short walk up towards the road. Standard, Premium and Premium Silver sit further back under the oaks, and everyone — waterfront or not — uses the same shoreline and fire pit.
How far is the ranch from Frisco and Dallas?
Waterfront Hideaway Ranch is about 25 minutes from Frisco and about an hour from downtown Dallas, at 640 Lloyds Rd, Little Elm, TX 75068 on the north end of Lake Lewisville.
